MVSTAY is a Maldives travel company created to help travellers discover more of the country through its islands, stays, experiences and stories.

We bring together carefully selected resorts, local island stays, transfers and authentic experiences to create journeys shaped around each traveller. Whether it is one perfect stay or a journey connecting several parts of the Maldives, we make the experience simpler, more personal and thoughtfully planned.

Our knowledge comes from living, working and travelling across the Maldives. This allows us to introduce travellers not only to beautiful places, but also to the communities, traditions and ocean experiences that make each part of the country distinctive.

Ahmed Shafiu

Ahmed Shafiu is the Founder and CEO of MVSTAY, which he established with a vision to help travellers experience more of the Maldives through its islands, people, stays and local experiences. His career has included teaching at Gemanafushi School, serving as Deputy Minister of Fisheries and working closely with island communities across the country. He is also involved in operating Maareha Divers Gemanafushi. His experience in public service, tourism and community engagement shapes MVSTAY’s commitment to creating meaningful journeys and supporting local tourism.

Ibrahim Shazin

Ibrahim Shazin brings experience from the public sector alongside a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He now runs his own logistics business and brings strong knowledge of marketing, business development and operations to MVSTAY. Originally from HA. Kelaa, an island known for its majestic lagoon and natural beauty, Ibrahim has a deep connection to local island life. He helps oversee MVSTAY’s operations, strengthen partnerships and create more opportunities for local tourism across the Maldives.

Mariyam Irasha

Mariyam Irasha holds a master’s degree in Education and continues to work in the education sector. Her professional experience brings a thoughtful, organised and people focused approach to the MVSTAY team. She helps oversee the company’s operations and supports the team in maintaining a reliable, well coordinated and attentive service for travellers and partners.

Ajwad Abdul Raheem

Ajwad Abdul Raheem focuses on connecting local stays and experiences across the Maldives to create thoughtfully combined journeys for MVSTAY guests. He works closely with local partners and communities to design tours that introduce travellers to different islands and regions of the country. Ajwad is also the Operations Manager of Maareha Divers Gemanafushi, which he manages alongside Ahmed Shafiu. His practical experience in diving, guest services and island operations brings valuable local insight to MVSTAY.
